About Austrian Garden Guide

Helping Austrian gardeners cultivate beautiful, sustainable gardens since 2023

Our Story

Austrian Garden Guide was born from a simple observation: while there's abundant gardening information online, very little of it addresses the specific challenges and opportunities of gardening in Austria's diverse climate zones.

From the mild, almost Mediterranean conditions around Lake Neusiedl to the harsh alpine environments of Tyrol, Austrian gardeners face unique circumstances that generic gardening advice simply doesn't address. We set out to change that.

Our team combines decades of hands-on gardening experience across Austria with a passion for sharing knowledge. We've grown vegetables in Vienna rooftop gardens, cultivated alpine rock gardens in Salzburg, and nurtured fruit orchards in the Wachau Valley. This diverse experience informs every piece of advice we share.

What We Believe

The principles that guide everything we do

Local Knowledge Matters

Gardening success depends on understanding your specific environment. We focus exclusively on techniques and plant varieties proven to work in Austrian conditions, from soil composition to frost dates.

Sustainable Practices

We promote organic methods, water conservation, and biodiversity-friendly gardening. Austria's natural beauty deserves gardeners who work with nature, not against it.

Community Connection

Gardening is better when shared. We encourage our readers to connect with local gardening clubs, seed swaps, and community gardens throughout Austria.

Our Approach

How we create content that actually helps

Tested Advice

Every technique we recommend has been tested in Austrian gardens. We don't share theoretical knowledge - we share what actually works in our climate and conditions.

Seasonal Timing

Our guides account for Austria's specific growing seasons. We provide month-by-month calendars that reflect real conditions from Vorarlberg to Burgenland.

Regular Updates

Climate patterns are changing, and so is gardening advice. We continuously update our content based on new research and the latest observations from Austrian gardens.
